Early Pregnancy Class
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
The fact that you are reading this page suggests that maybe you are after a bit more information about everything that's coming your way over the next few months. Well, look no further! Our early pregnancy class provides a space for mothers and fathers to be to ask questions, learn about what to expect between now and your baby's Birth Day, and get to meet others with the same hopes and uncertainties.
This is a stand alone pregnancy class, suitable to attend anytime up to 26 weeks pregnant. It is aimed at first time parents, who often have lots of questions about their pregnancies, and for whom the midwife appointments can feel very spaced out. The class is free to attend, but must be booked onto as places are limited.
It is aimed at couples, but you are welcome to attend on your own if your partner can't make it. Or you can bring someone else with you - your mum, a friend, your doula etc.
In the two hour session, we will cover topics such as:
baby development in the womb
nutrition in pregnancy
changes to mum's body
choices around where to have your baby
your feelings around the birth
communicating with your growing baby
Every person who joins this class will also be invited to join a closed Facebook group, where you can ask questions, share thoughts and start to create friendships with other local people who are expecting at around the same time as you. This will give you the start of a strong support network for once the baby is here. There are also two midwives on the group who can answer any medical questions you may have.
