Experience Register Code of Conduct
The Experience Register is a support service offered by Birth Baby Balance, enabling pregnant women, mothers, partners and families access to a network of volunteers, for support and reassurance.
This is not a professional service, nor is it a professional helpline.
The volunteers are mothers and fathers who are offering their time and experience to help others who are going through similar experiences to their own.
By accessing this support service, we have the expectation you and our volunteers will adhere to a Code of Conduct, ensuring everyone involved is safe and comfortable with asking and offering support.
Therefore, when contacting a volunteer, we expect the following:
Kindness and Courtesy
Our volunteers are giving their time and experience freely. Please be respectful of that, including the understanding they may not be able to respond straight away to your call or email. We also expect our volunteers to be respectful of your time and availability likewise.
2. No bullying or abuse
Sharing vulnerabilities and worries can be difficult and we need to make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading or abusive comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated. Any behaviour deemed as such received by you or our volunteers will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
3. Privacy and Confidentiality is Respected
Being a volunteer on the Experience Register and asking for help from them requires mutual trust. We expect that many conversations will be sensitive and private. What's shared within these conversations we expect to stay as a private conversation between you and the volunteer. We expect both you and the volunteer to keep any information or comments shared between you completely confidential and nothing is to be shared with anyone else or on social media or other social or public platforms of any type.
